Morgan Territory in the Spring

image

The California poppies were in full bloom when we hiked at Morgan Territory on April 3, 2015.  We took one of our old favorite trails and enjoyed the green grass and hills covered with wild flowers.  Perhaps because it has been so dry this year the flowers are doing their best to survive by trying to set seeds while they can.  Whenever possible, we hike here in the spring because of the great display.  The trails are not difficult and offer a variety of landscapes.  There are some dramatic dead trees, a lovely stock pond, and views all the way across the central valley to the Sierras on a clear day like this one.  Again, it really makes us appreciate the area we live in.
