Hiking on Pleasanton Ridge

On Friday, May 16th, we hiked up to the top of Pleasanton Ridge.  We drove to the trail head on Golden Eagle Way, and hiked up Golden Eagle Trail. This part of Pleasanton Ridge is owned by Pleasanton and is restricted to Pleasanton residents.  Outsiders are able to get a pass at the Pleasanton Community Center, or Alviso Adobe.  It was a very warm day, but the trail was well shaded and not as steep as the Foothill Road trail head.  There were spectacular views of the Livermore Valley which were framed by native trees.  We hiked about 3.5 miles.  This is a park that we would like to explore further.
