Hike to Holdener Park

On the day after Thanksgiving we had a good turnout to walk off some of the extra calories.  We walked along the bike path from the parking lot at Concannon and Tesla, along Marina Ave. to the trail that goes through vineyards to Holdener Park.  This is a hike we have done before, but this time we took an extension in the park that went up to a new look-out spot, and then went around a hill to come back out near the place where we started.  The trail is single track through the park and has been improved with steps in some of the steeper places.  It is fairly heavily wooded with valley oaks and there are shows of deer and lots of ground critters.  The weather was clear and crisp with wonderful views of the mountains around the area.  We hiked slightly over 5 miles in just over 2 1/2 hours.  That should take care of some of the pie we ate the day before.Image
